Year-end, 2019

December 20, 2019

I've been holding off on doing a year-end round up, because I knew I'd have two, possibly three stories out in December. I don't *think* the third will make it out before the end of the year, so I can go ahead and sum up, because, well. . . it makes me feel less like I wasted the year to make an accounting. :)

What did I do this year?

I had my first book of poetry published by an actual press--The Gates of Never!

21 poems published this year--down from last year's explosion of poems, but I wrote tons, especially in November. I'm looking forward to seeing many poems go live next year, and I have two in particular that will go live at markets I have only dreamed about before, so, that's a big positive.

Story-wise, it's been a great year!

13 short stories (including a novella) published in this year! I never thought I'd be able to say something like that!

Here they are, in all their glory:

"A Thousand Echoes in One Voice," Overcast #97, January 16, 2019. (

"The Intercessor," The Fantasist #9, January 27, 2019. (

"The Archmage's Invitation," Constellary Tales #2, February 14, 2019. (

"Last Week I was Esther," Pseudopod #635, February 15, 2019. (

"When the Silvershade Blooms," Liquid Imagination #40, February 27, 2019. (

"Forward, Into Violet Sunset," Factor Four #5, April 1, 2019. (Requires subscription to read.

"On the Sixth Day," Pulp Lit #23, Summer 2019. (Also at Amazon.)

"The Improbable Case of the Were-Hydra," Mad Scientist Journal, Summer 2019. (

"Sweet Tooth," The Arcanist, (With Kurt J. Pankau) August 6, 2019. (

"The Experiment Meets Certain Doom," Mad Scientist Journal, Autumn 2019. (

"Leaving Red Footprints," Pulp Modern: Tech Noir, October 20, 2019. (

"The Ghost Teas of Sakurajima," Mithila Review: The Journal of International Science Fiction & Fantasy, #12, December 5, 2019. (

"Carols on Callisto," Escape Pod, December 19, 2019. (

It's been a great year, and I'm looking forward to doing even better in 2020. :) Thank you all for reading my twiddles, and for your support.
